You know, it never occurred to me that one day I would get to hold, much less sell, a shell that once would have been the world record, but that is exactly what this beauty is.  The world record for the
gloriamaris
in 1973 was 140.9mm  and this baby is 150mm, wow!  The other thing you do not expect of a shell of this size is for it to be in the great condition it is---as the photos show, on examination the shell does have repairs, but the repairs are seen
after
you have recovered from the shock of seeing a
gloriamaris
this big, they're there, but they don't destroy the beauty of the shell.
.  This live collected shell has a perfect spire, an exquisite pattern, and two recent repairs on its lip, (the shell had survived many a fight before it was collected,) yet
again, as the photos show, it makes a 100mm gloriamaris look like it is a toy, and it truly is a one-of-a-kind,

PS---I learned recently that this is

the world record, I didn't think it would be, but it still is the kind of shell that very few will ever get to own...
As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!
