.  Collected by tangle nets in 100-150 meters of water, Zamboanga Island, Philippines.
I've often wished I could go shell collecting in the Philippines, it just seems like shell collecting paradise... and tangle nets!?  Now what's that all about?  I mean really, the number and variety of rare shells being collected there from the deep (and shallow!) waters surrounding the islands is incredible!  And the people are wonderful.  I loved my time there, got to meet Victor Dan when he was just a young yet already accomplished dealer, hold those two giant gloriamaris cones, and look at the waters and wish that I was old enough to get out there and look too!  What a place, what a place!

is a terrific shell from a collection put together by a master.  (It's great fun working with these shells!)  Now then, like all of their shells, this one too is a beaut---a near-GEM recluzianus cone, found by some lucky stiff shell collecting in the waters of the Philippines, and with its pastel
pattern on a
near flawless white body, nice lip and a perfect protoconch, this shell is a terrific beauty that will look
fantastic
sitting on your shelf!

As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!
