Original ca. 1915-1918 postcard showing British Tommies (i.e. soldiers) wearing masks while digging a trench. Postcard caption calls them "respirators" but they look like
now
ubiquitous face masks to me. A timely topic.
Although postcard shows British soldiers, it was published in San Francisco California by Pacific Novelty Company.
